My Visit to Haliewa

Watch the video
Last week, I decided to go with my father to Haliewa Town on the North Shore of Oahu since I haven't been there in awhile. While he was taking care of a job for his work, I went around and filmed.

In the paper it said you guys had a lot of rain. Your video is all nice and sunny though. On a regular basis, where does the drinking water come from? I have this mental image of Hawaii as growing out of the planet's crust. Over here, it's basically from the mountains, aquifers, and reservoirs.

What's an azuki bean? Is is something I want on my snow cone?

Oooo..., thanks for the clarification. I'm pretty sure I don't want baked beans in my slushee. I had a hard enough time adjusting to Bubble Teas, which are making a big splash here. It's weird to chew a beverage.

re: the bike. I wish the bike was here! I'd bike all over NYC if I wasn't so afraid of traffic. In New Orleans it's much easier because there are far less cars in our neighborhood and it's almost totally flat. Bikey is awaiting my return to N.O.

that was a great post. I thought Shangao's trip to the zoo was good. He didn't have any turtles...

That was really nice! I have only been to the tourist area of Hawaii...would like to see the other islands...
Yeah, azuki beans...they actually make a good snow cone...last summer I was in Fukuoka City and some shop had the weirdest flavors...like natto, and wasabi flavor...not my cup of tea...
Anyhow, great video...I remember you mentioned back in a video in the fall I think...your folks weren't too sure what to think about vlogging...has that changed?

It's been so long since I've been to Hawaii. We drove to the north shore. I remember seeing this great beach with an amazing rock about 200 yards off shore. And a sugar cane factory.

Holy Moly those turtles were AWESOME! More video of turtles, please...

This view of Hawaii looks so different from the tourism brochures i've seen. it looks like places around where i live! (corn, horses, long country roads and small convenience stores.)

But we don't have major turtle action!!!!! Yeah turtles!!!!!
